Protection of the nacelle - external lightning protection

Safe interception and discharge of direct lightning strikes is decisive to the availability of your wind turbine. The stainless steel air-termination systems and connection elements fulfil enhanced requirements regarding corrosion resistance.

Good to know: DEHN components are tested in compliance with the standard series DIN EN 62561.

Here is an example of an external lightning protection concept for the nacelle.

HVIpower Conductor

To maintain the separation distance. Class of LPS 1 – 200 kA (10/350 μs) – High-voltage-resistant, insulated down conductor in supporting tube with air-termination tip.

HVIpower long Conductor

To maintain the separation distance. Prevents dangerous flashover between parts of the external lightning protection system and internal conductive parts, e.g., electrical installations and pipes.

UNI disconnection clamp 200 kA

For application in class of LPS I and II. Lightning current carrying capability 200 kA.

KS connector 200 kA

For application in class of LPS I and II. Lightning current carrying capability 200 kA.

MV clamp 200 kA

MV clamp for connecting an earth entry rod or air-termination rod (Ø 16 mm) with a round conductor (Ø 8-10 mm). Lightning current carrying capability 200 kA.
